Hey newyorkers,
That would be cool. This is the new KOA. We'll be checking in Saturday morning. Look for a red Ford Explorer, silver Polaris 700 and a green Kymco 300.
BTW: Are you the folks we went riding with at Uwharrie last year? We used to have the green and blue Yamaha Bruins.
Give us a call. My cell is 919-730-7937.
John

Oh my gawd what a FREAKIN BLAST!!!
We arrived at the KOA a little later than expected, and we missed Val & Kenny by about 10 minutes (according to the nice folks in the front office). We waited until noon to see if they were coming back (no cell service), but they didn't. So Liz and I decided to hit the trails. We rode KOA's trails for about 10 miles until we encountered a group of riders from the Charlotte area. Those folks were the greatest!! There was Kent, Nancy, Tim, Tanya, Brian, Jackie and Cindy. All were riding big bore utes. We eneded up riding with them for another 5 hours (over 30 miles). Kent (alias Coop) knows those trails like the back of his hand. We rode KOA, Pinnacle, Wagon Wheel, and god knows where else. Mud, water, up hill, down hill, logging roads, you name it...we found it. By the end of the day, Liz was exhausted. She had gotten herself into and out of some serious mud holes along the way, got over some nasty obstacles, and climbed some steep hills. Unfortunately, that meant she was done for the weekend. On Sunday, Craig (alias Bigmack) and I hooked back up with Coop and gang and rode for another 9 hours (about 95 miles). I think my fav was the Pinnacle Creek trail. I also loved whatever plateau that was that we were on top of. You could see for about 15-20 miles in every direction!! Tanya took lots of pics. I gave her my email address and begged her to send me copies. If she does, I'll post them asap. Besides, I REALLY want to go riding with that group again. Did I mention that I had a FREAKIN BLAST?!?!?! I can't wait to go back!!

That place is a BLAST. I love going there.. I haven't been much this year, but plan on going up Sept 15th weekend. I have a camper at Hill Top Escape, and know many of the trails, having been going there for 6 years now.
If you get a chance to come back up, check at the resterant at Hill top and ask where Brian Brown of the Triad Trailblazers is. We have many members that also have campers there.

Sorry we missed you, we waited almost an hour and didn't hear anything and left you messages on both your phones. When we didn't hear anything back we finally went riding. We left you another voicemail for Sunday morning and came back over Sunday morning, but you had left already. We had a really nice chat with Liz and it was great to see her again. Glad you had a great time riding. We really enjoyed the poker run and Sunday we met up with Mark and his buddy. Kenny & I ride alot of those trails everytime we go there but Mark showed us some new ones. There are so many triails there I don't think we'll ever see them all. Sounds like all had a great weekend, hope the catch ya next time.
