Hi guys and gals: I was just wondering whom was interested in a Uwharrie Work Day, or a few, this year which we would try to sponser as PATVA Work Days? I will go speak with the proper officials if we show some interest and set up a few dates that we could sponsor. I know there has been concern about closing some areas to ATV's and fencing in areas, but if our participation isn't noted, we will not be heard. This will create a possitve image for our club as well as sport. Please post if you are interested so we can get the ball rolling, it will be opening before long. Thanks for your interest.

All right I will set something up next week and see if we can't get the PATVA to be able to solely sponsor a work day or a few for this year. I will be sure to mention the amount of trash and drinking that takes place there. Let me know any more of your concerns and I will be sure to pass them along as well. Thanks in advance for your support. Brad

B-MAN, Not knowing the dates is factor, but I'll surely help any time that I don't have unavoidable commitments. AS for My personal concerns, my one big problem is not being able to ride my ATV from the campground to the work area. This causes me a lot of problems and quite a lot of extra transportation expense. Volunteer work shouldn't cost the volunteer an unreasonable amount of money in addition to His time and effort. Larry Dee I agree with your concerns, and I will certainly voice those concerns when I meet with the Forest Service. I did breifly talk to two seperate rangers who did say there were plans to build a new camp area on the trails somewere, but I will also ask about this rumor. As for dates, I'm not sure what they will be, I think they may pick the dates, but if not we will try to find times condusive to most everyones schedules. We will see what is said and I will then relay that information to everyone via this site as well as mail. Jeremy will be going with me as well so hopefully we will look a little more organized in numbers.

Thanks Willynuff, they are definatly valid points which I will pursue. I am putting together a list of objectives I think would help us as well as the USFS. I think my goals are very high but I think we can accomplish many of the goals set. It WILL take some dedicated work but in the long run it will benefit our club and most importantly our sport! Once I have my thoughts down on paper I will submit them to the group to view and decide on. I can use all the help and ideas anyone has!!! Please keep posting and voicing your concerns. Brad

8) COOL, JEREMY, Sounds like an excellent suggestion to me. How about it PATVA group ? Would this proposed date change mess up anyone's planning/scheduling ?
JIMMY M, should we (you) set up a pole to vote on this, or would it be better to take a vote at the April PATVA meeting ?
Should be an interesting trip ---- The first two times I went to Uwharrie, I was riding the Kaw Lakota. Should make for an interesting comparison between it and the Suzuki VINSON, HUH !!......... Don't think there'll be a worthy comparison ;D

Larry, I would reccomend to do the poll in PATVA's private forum so we only get PATVA votes. All you do is create a poll using this page's format.

Sounds great to me! I have not been able to speak with the Forest Ranger yet, but I will this week, providing he is back from Asheville. I will try to come to a solution about the travel to and from the Campground. I hope he will try to come to a resolution for this problem.
