Got a Kawa Prairie 360 6/1/06 broke it easy for a week then loaded up the truck and headed for WVA on Thursday 6/8/06. "Oh son this is gonna be a good one" I told my 18 y/o boy Carson as we had talked and planed for a while. Got to Pineville WVA at about 6 of the afternoon got a site at the Pinnacle Creek Campground (304-732-8346). They have a store/grill with showers upstairs. We got some sleep that night but Pineville is like a trucking cross roads and alot of trucks roll through and a little less noise would have been good. Got up the next morning and I was wishing that the boy would wanna wait to go out the next day. We were gonna rent a Suzuki 400 from Happy Trails in Pineville 304-732-9114 ($150 for 8 hrs.), he did not wanna wait. After some strong coffee from my new Coleman cook stove coffee maker we got our reservation moved up and it was on! All most heaven don't even come close what beautiful place. Got on the Pinnical Creek trail head about 9:30 that sunny morning. I told him I have got to paid for what ever you mess up so you stay behind me okay? He had a big smile and said that sounds like the plain. Friend even mister moto had trouble that day hangin as dad stayed in it for most of the trip (he managed to get me with a rooster tail a couple of times). I have spent alot of time in woods of NC but I have never seen the wildlife in such abundance. The trails range from easy to difficult we rode the grease out of em' over 70 miles that day in about 6 hours. Nothing but happy faces on the folks as young to old, women and men you would meet. Trail #23 long and beautiful was not just our favorite but one of our favorite places on earth. We stayed at the Executive Inn on the main st. down town (we may have had the best room as it was not alot of business). Again the people were real nice but the trucks were a little noisy. Saturday came and we were going to another trail head we were thinking Man WVA and Browning Fork. After a local dude told us about Bear Wallow and his friend Brady w/ the Devil Anse (Hatefield) Campground and trails (304-752-1841) we went up #10 hwy took a right on 17 hwy and stayed in the greenest and cleanest campground you ever saw. I don't think even 1 truck came through all night did I say the most peaceful too? Brady and Jackie there at the Four Way Market (same #) gro/grill will hook u up. So little did we know that this was the Dingess Rum trail head. It just keep getting better the trail head is like 100 yds. from the camp ground. What trails!! The rental hook up there is this dude named Kevin he has Honda Workman's 304-687-4732. He is like $125 and $95 if you stay in the campground (he delivers). Lets see you beat that $95 for a day just this side of heaven, Man oh Man WVA that is. Here is the html addy devilansecampground.com tell em' grapejuice sent you. Got some pics too not developed yet. Y'all be careful, Billy Welch
