I want to start off by saying that it's upsetting to see a fellow business in a small town reduce itself into deceiving and misleading customers in decision-making in order to "save face" with a potentially influential customer. I recently had dealings with a local "shop" that intentionally misled me on the history of a unit that I was considering for purchase. They told me all of the good things done, but apparently not the bad. Well, I am now selling the unit and have had my potential buyer relay to me that this "shop" had informed him that it had had the unit in and that there were some potential, yet inevitable issues that had had "band-aids" put on them but would eventually rear their ugly heads. Now I'm stuck with a unit that unbeknownst to me, until now, has some serious issues that will cost lots of money to repair, and cause further expensive damage if not repaired in full. Soon, I might add. I just want to caution those of you who think you are getting a professional opinion from a reputable source, that this is not always the case. Apparently, the previous seller was more "important" than I, which is why I'm assuming they didn't inform me of the issues, yet found it necessary to inform my buyer of them. BEWARE!!

Got some new info today. My buyer, who is a good friend of mine, along with my blessing, decided to get a second opinion despite the opinion from a "reputable" source. After 100 dollars in expense to test compression and tear down the head of the motor to see if there were any signs of problems, guess what, compression was fine and there was very light "common wear" buildup in the carb and other completely normal spots. We have chosen to go ahead with cleaning of the carb and some other items that will cost an additional 100-150 as a maintenance type deal. I am soooo pissed right now knowing that this shop has "gotten one over" on myself and a good friend. The only reasoning that I can place on this shops attempts to sabotoge my bike was an attempt at making a sale on one in its own inventory. We both have limited knowledge of mechanical type issues and have obviously been taken deep advantage of through putting trust into someone else's hands. If this is the type of "service" you desire, then by all means let it be. We are going through with the sale, on one condition, and one condition only; this bike is to never see the inside of this shop again. I will personally haul the bike to the ends of the earth before that happens. I commend the sponsorship of the atv hobby and hope that all of you as members receive some sort of benefit from having these sponsors, however, not one dime of mine will ever be spent there again. Form your own opinion, mine is set.

Wanted to add, there is a guy in Timberlake, who is awesome at his knowledge of atv's, motorcycles (street or dirt), and the like and has a very professional demeanor, at half the price. I would highly recommend to anyone. I wish I could remember his name (Jerry I want to say). Just ask around, I did, and found him no problem. Thanks "Jerry"
